Tongue Youth Hostel, by Lairg, Sutherland IV27 4XH (Tel: 01847 611789)
This charming old lodge has the most amazing views of Ben Loyal and the famous Kyle of Tongue.

Achmelvich Youth Hostel, Recharn, Lairg (Tel: 01571 844480)
The beach oooooh! The smallest castle in the world is also here.

Ullapool Youth Hostel, Shore Street, Ullapool, Ross-shire (Tel. 01854 612254)
Magic.

No membership required at any of these facilities. All bed linen supplied. All self-catering. Bar meals can be obtained in most pubs in Ullapool. And, there's always the chippie!

Saturday 2nd August

 

Depart Stirling Railway Station at 09:00 hrs. We will stop en-route for snacks or meals and also have the obligatory view/camera breaks before arriving in Tongue.

Sunday 3rdAugust

 

Munro: Ben Klibreck (the mountain of the speckled stones)
A full traverse of this mountain is the order of the day.

Corbett: Ben Loyal (elm tree hill)
The Queen of Bens and rightly so. Gobsmakin'

Monday 4th August

 

Munro: Ben Hope (the mountain of the bay)
Wonderful seascape views from the summit.

Corbetts: Cranstackie (rugged hill) - Beinn Spionnaidh (hill of strength)
These Corbetts are a new addition to G&M Guides.

Followed by a drive to Achmelvich.

Tuesday 5thAugust

 

Corbetts: Quinag (Spidean Coinich (mossy peak) - Sail Gharbh (rough heel) - Sail Gorm (blue heel))
Munro baggers will give Corbetteers 'respect' after this traverse!

Corbett: Ben Hee (fairy hill)
New to me but I will give you a blow by blow account!

Wednesday 6th August

 

Munros: Conival (enchanted hill) - Ben More Assynt (great mountain of Assynt)
You will know you have been for a 'wee stroll' after this incredible traverse.

Corbett: Meall Horn (hill of the eagle)
Pray for good weather for the views from this hill!

Thursday 7th August

 

Corbett: Arkle (hill of the level top)
Oh my giddy aunt! Hill of the brown trousers more like! Remember when it won the Grand National? Same owner. What a mountain!

Graham: Suilven (the pillar or the grey castle)
What a jewel.

Followed by a drive to our last accommodation at Ullapool.

Friday 8thAugust

 

Munro: Seana Bhraigh (old upper part)
A planned bike-hike from Corriemulzie Lodge (Oykell Bridge) followed by a very pleasant walk and scramble to the old trig point. See if you can spot it? This is undoubtedly the best route for this hill.

Corbett: Carn Ban (white cairn)
This is a wee thorn in the flesh for some of our Corbetteers! (bike essential)

Saturday 9th August

 

Munros: The Deargs (Eididh nan Clach Geala (web of the white stones) - Ceann Garbh - Meall nan Ceapraichean (a back or hilltop) - Cona Mheall (hill of the dog) - Beinn Dearg (red hill))
A big day for your last 'stroll', but then you'll be fit for it after a week's walking.

Graham: Stac Pollaidh (peak of the peat moss)
Come try the 'squirm bit' to summit!!!

Followed by the drive back to Stirling with a stop for a snack or meal.

Total cost of £380 includes - self-catering accommodation, transport, and guide.

We can also accommodate clients booking in for separate parts of this trip
but please remember this would be on a pro rata basis.

A non-returnable deposit of £40 is required to confirm booking.
The balance of £340 to be paid by 19th July.
Please make all cheques payable to Janet Whyte and enclose a s.a.e. if a receipt is required.

This deposit is lodged in a Clients Deposit Account with the Bank of Scotland in Callander.
In the event of this trip being cancelled by Glen and Mountain Guides the deposit will be automatically refunded.
